Password Resets - Security Questions
If a user has set their security questions, they will be required to answer them correctly if conducting a password change. Setting of security questions is a requirement before accounts can be 'joined'. Security questions exist to prevent unauthorised access to company-controlled data due to compromise of a user's email account or other impersonation attack. If a user has forgotten the answers to their security questions, please raise a support ticket*. - IF the user only has one railway, their questions will be cleared, and they will be able to obtain a reset without the questions. Clearing the security questions will allow a password reset on the strength of the user's email account security. Admins should first be CERTAIN that the user is genuine before requesting the questions are cleared. Obtain certainty by verbal confirmation, do not rely on email requests. - IF the user has more than one railway, their accounts will be separated out and they will need to obtain a password reset from each Admin at the organisations they work for. This is to protect data controlled by each organisation from a rogue admin at a different organisation. Accounts can be re-joined together once the password resets are completed. --- It is planned to provide facilities for Admins to do this process themselves in the future. | ||
